“What is culturally relevant teaching?” That is the question I set out to answer four years ago. Back in 2020, my wife and I were preparing to be parents and I had started researching the state of our educational system. I quickly realized that I knew essentially nothing about what was happening in our schools, despite attending them for the first twenty-two years of my life. The buzzwords were everywhere – “diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI),” “social-and-emotional learning (SEL),” “restorative justice (RJ),” and “culturally relevant teaching,” to name a few. I was completely lost, but I knew that some people

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 77 When Woke Marxists set their sights on an organization, there’s a predictable pattern for how they’ll get in and take over. Proceeding in five steps, it looks like this. First, they demand access. Once in, they demand accommodation, which will be weaponized according to their ability to take offense at everything. Then they’ll demand a seat at the table, which is to say access to power. That will quickly expand to demanding to control the table and setting the rules. From there, they’ll demand to control the whole room (organization). This is predictable, and it

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 76 Communists have to get inside institutions to subvert and transform them. Getting into them requires tactics. The name for these tactics is entryism, or sometimes just entrism, and it describes how a hostile ideological force goes about getting inside an institution that wouldn’t normally accept it. It’s a key concept for stopping Woke Marxism, so in this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks it down. Join him and understand this important Woke tactic. New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 75 One of the more important questions about Critical Race Theory, and one of the only ones that still lingers now that we know that it’s Race Marxism, is Is CRT anti-white? The answer seems to be obviously yes, but it’s somehow inadequate or a crude oversimplification. This matters because that crude oversimplification, like most blunt instruments, is both popular and hard to avoid picking up in a fight. The real answer is more no than yes, and getting it straight makes a big difference in how we engage it. Join host James Lindsay in this episode of

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 73 Critical Pedagogy is brainwashing. This isn’t rhetorical flourish or poetic license. The entire school of thought called Critical Pedagogy, which is wholly dominant in all our schools of education and educational institutions now, is brainwashing. It’s easy to see this by considering the words of people who use and promote Critical Pedagogy itself. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay takes you through three such people to make an irrefutable case that Critical Pedagogy really is nothing other than Woke brainwashing. Woke Marxism undermines law, and for it to succeed, it must pervert law to advance its own ends. So far, it has been extremely successful at this, from the Critical Legal Theory movement in the 1970s and 1980s through Critical Race Theory and outright legal and judicial activism. If our remaining judiciary remains unaware of the infiltration and subversion, we will probably lose our country. If it wakes up and discharges its duty more… judiciously… we can save our country the same way they’re trying to take it from us: without firing a shot, as the saying goes. Such is
