It’s a perfect storm right now. A worldwide pandemic, two or three months of lock

It’s a perfect storm right now. A worldwide pandemic, two or three months of lock down, 40 million job losses and huge economic anxiety, radicalization on the web, a polarizing figure in power. And when another unarmed black man is ruthlessly killed in front of everyone’s eyes, it is all too much, especially the racism. But we have tools for dealing with intensity. We can calm our bodies and minds, we can keep our attention in the here and now, and find ways to contribute sanely and safely. We can commit to our higher values, and enact them. And we can reach out to people unlike ourselves, make contact, say hello, extend kindness, and refuse to buy in to an “us and them” mentality. Our practice is our life, especially now.
