The fatalism from professors around ChatGPT’s ability to write seemingly any good-enough-essay has me a bit astounded, to be honest. There’s a very simple solution—just have the students write by hand and in person. You’re not getting through this in any other way.

@jim_rutt Well, surely the assignment itself isn’t obsolesced because the purpose of the assignment is the development of the student’s writing and thinking abilities, rather than the product produced at the end of the exercise.
