From the Systems Innovation website:

Systems Innovation is a networked organization of some 2-3K members, 30-40 organizations and 10-15 partners that contribute to creating content, organizing events, running the website etc.

The topic “systems innovation” is a new approach to innovation that tries to tackle complex problems through the use of systems science and new technologies. It is a kind of innovation that aims to change the underlying structure of a system rather than just any of its individual parts.

We build an eLearning and collaborative platform that empowers our users to do systems-level innovation. We help you think in systems, better understand complexity, to better manage and design complex systems towards realizing sustainable outcomes.

The world is changing in profound ways as we go from disconnected to connected, transforming boxes and silos into networks. This creates both challenges and opportunities in the face of which traditional ways of thinking based upon reductionist simplification are failing and new networked approaches are now needed to better meet the social, economic and environmental challenges of today – to start to change whole systems rather than just parts.

Description:

Joss is a founder of Systems Innovation.

From Joss Colchester’s LinkedIn profile:

I am interested in how to use new ways of thinking (systems and complexity theory) and new ways of organizing (networks) combined with new technologies (decentralized web) to enable systems-level change (systems innovation).

In general, I help people and organizations to understand and use the ideas from complexity theory and systems thinking to better model, analyze and design complex systems towards enabling systems-level change.

In 2014 I started an eLearning website for systems thinking and spent the next 4 years mass-producing video courses that have been watched millions of times and used daily by universities and enterprises small and large around the world.
