What are retreats for and why does every team need one?

At The Hum we always encourage teams to plan for a regular time to slow down and be together.

Last month we held our annual team retreat, where the whole team stayed together for 3 days in a nice location out of the office. In an era of online meetings, it was really special to be together in person, to have space for the kinds of conversations that don’t happen in our day-to-day work. To connect with our shared purpose, talk about deep fears or frustrations, and have expansive visionary discussions.

If you are thinking about designing a retreat for your team, we recommend keeping in mind that just being together can often be the most important and productive agenda.

There is an incredible value in just getting to know each other, sharing meals, telling stories, enjoying nature. It’s not so much about “getting work done”, it’s developing trust in each other. This has the power to create a peak of enthusiasm, connection and good feeling in the team.

We came back from our retreat humming with new ideas and creativity. Subscribe to our Newsletter to be the first one to learn about our upcoming workshops, resources and events. 👉 https://bit.ly/3x3Mjoc
