For effective decentralised decision-making, regardless of the decision method you use, you will need a few other organisational mechanisms in place. Here is what you need ๐Ÿ‘‡

1) Shared direction
You and the rest of the team need a shared sense of direction: like a purpose statement, principles, or objectives.

2) Evaluate outcomes
You need to stop and evaluate the outcomes of the decisions, as well as the process. So you can learn from good and bad decisions. Retrospectives are great for this (check out our previous posts for it).

3) Support relationship building
You need proactive measures to support relationships, so differences of opinion stay within the bounds of healthy disagreement and donโ€™t mutate into unhealthy conflict.
