Have you ever heard about the Advice process for collaborative decision making?

In 2014, Frederic Laloux published “Reinventing Organizations”, a book that has made a huge impact. One of the best contributions from that book is that he made the Advice process method a popular one.

😎 Advice is a very simple and powerful decision-making method.

Here how it works:
1. You can be the decision-maker.
You can own the decision. You don’t have to negotiate to satisfy everyone. But, you must first seek advice…
2. Listen to the advice.
From people who will be affected, and people who have relevant expertise. The process encourages you to cultivate relationships and to recognise expertise.
3. Make a decision.
Announce the outcome, ensuring people know they were heard and understood, even if they disagree with your decision.
4. You take responsibility for the outcome.
Making sure you learn about the outcome and the process, so it can be adjusted in the future.

‼️ The priority here is to enable maximum autonomy, while still making use of collective intelligence.
