Now we will also start a Nordic Bildung Network and host meetings, conferences, and other activities about bildung in the Nordics. Its Nordic name is a mix of Scandinavian, Finnish, and Icelandic: Nordiskt Sivistys Netverkið.The first conference was just this Thursday and Friday, March 6-7, at Nordiska Folkhögskolan in Kungälv, just north of Gothenburg, Sweden.35 people participated, and besides 20+ presentations we had some very interesting discussions, not least about what kinds of activities we should have in the new Nordic Bildung Network. It has been some extremely inspiring 8 months as we have researched for and prepared a pan-Nordic survey about bildung. The goal is to find out how educators across the Nordics, from kindergarten to university, and from formal to non-formal educaction experience and work with bildung. Thus we have had four goals with the pre-project:To find out to what extent educators may find a full survey important To find out how they perceive and define bildung To find out how important they find bildung To explore to what extent they find that they have time and resources to promote bildung

The next Global Meeting on Equinox will be on March 22!We used to host the Global Bildung Day — which we then renamed the Global Meeting on Equinox — on March 21 and September 21, but in September 2024 our online event had more participants than ever before and we figured that it might be because it was a Saturday.
