Triads are one of our core signifiers in our SenseMaker® designs. They explore the tension/balance between three interrelated concepts in a person’s experience. A participant is asked to drag the marker onto a space on the triangle where they feel their story sits. These signifiers increase the cognitive load on a respondent; avoiding an automatic or “correct” answer and instead encouraging a deeper reflection on the stories they have shared.

Answering a triad may be very new to most people. Therefore, we can provide static images or GIFs of a triad example that can form part of the #SenseMaker design and support SenseMaker® respondents. These images or GIFs can be translated into any language or changed to any relevant example!
