New piece on our Substack by Alexander Beiner exploring the story behind his upcoming book ‘The Bigger Picture: How psychedelics can help us make sense of the world’ published by Hay House in 2023.
The book explores how psychedelics can help us make sense of the times, and find new ways to reframe our responses to ‘The Three Crises’ of the age: The Meta Crisis, The Meaning Crisis and the Trust Crisis.
It draws on new conversations with people we’ve hosted on Rebel Wisdom, as well as new voices from different fields. Looking at the science of psychedelics, the sociology of the internet, the philosophy of games, systems change, our cultural relationship to truth, ancient wisdom traditions and much more.
This big picture framing is interwoven with personal diary entries as a participant on the world’s first continuous-infusion DMT study. In this piece, he shares how the book came about, his up and down journey with book writing, and a diary entry from one of his dosings on the DMT trial.
