A note from Jeff Salzman :

I’ve been reading the New York Times for most of my adult life and it has been a rich source of insight for my Daily Evolver podcast, where I look at current events through the lens of cultural evolution.

The newspaper is itself evolving, of course, and in recent years has accelerated its movement from modern liberalism (orange altitude) to postmodern progressivism (green altitude) to become the newspaper of record for the multi-cultural, eco-oriented and egalitarian worldviews.

As for me, these days I’m working on developing a post-progressive worldview (teal/turquoise altitude), one that seeks to integrate the gifts of the progressive worldview with those of the modern and traditional worldviews (and, indeed, the mythic and magic worldviews).

This new webcast is me working that project out in real-time. Each week I look at a couple of articles with an eye to spotting the goodness, truth and beauty emerging in the midst of the ongoing mayhem of human evolution.

You can join me live every Friday at 1 pm ET on the Post-Progressive Facebook Group. Full episodes are posted soon thereafter on The Post-Progressive Post and excerpts appear on The Daily Evolver website and YouTube channel.

Also, check out the Institute for Cultural Evolution for more on The Post-Progressive Project.

I love doing this work, folks, and so appreciate you subscribing! – Jeff Salzman
