@BruceMctague I read about half of The 4th Turning, I think. I see both patterns playing out simultaneously. Globalization is trying to create an ever larger empire, while at the human level there is more and more fragmentation.

@BruceMctague Looks like an explosion, like being pulled apart. Thinking about the cyclical patterns of humans trying to build the tower of Babel and the subsequent disunification. Empires rising and falling.
