the Stadtwerkstatt is hosting a space for more than 38 different citizen’s projects 

The Institute for Participatory Design has the mandate by the Berlin senate to design and implement a process for these various initiatives.

The City Laboratory is a huge experiment, because usually, if you talk about participatory processes in urban planning and urban design, most processes where you participate citizens are designed in a way that each project gets one process. With the City Laboratory we have a space which is only dedicated for urban planning with the only purpose to serve participation and cocreation for city development.

What is the “Stadtwerkstatt”? (GRP17)

Directly at Alexanderplatz, the Stadtwerkstatt (City Laboratory) is hosting a space for more than 38 different citizen’s projects within Berlin Mitte. The Institute for Participatory Design has the mandate by the Berlin senate to design and implement a process for these various initiatives.
