This is exactly the kind of (deliberate?) misinformation that’s used on the side of those making the kind of arguments in the piece. Cotton’s op-ed did nothing of the kind. He CLEARLY distinguished between rioters and protesters – I quote: “A majority who seek to protest peacefully shouldn’t be confused with bands of miscreants.” You can argue as to whether it was a sensible course of action to bring in the military – but not lie about what he actually said.
