We need to integrate the best of pre-modern, modern, and postmodern.
How often have we said that?
A thousand times!
• the best interior science of the great traditions, which speaks of the potential for human dignity which is in the innate value of every human being.
• The best of modernity, which moves beyond the ethnocentric limitation on that human dignity that the traditions placed when the traditions said it’s only my people who have value… my people have dignity. Modernity moves into a kind of universal set of human rights; a sense of universal dignity of men;
• and into post modernity—which is not just men—but women. And not just landowners—but every human being.
And all those who are marginalized, and all of the L G B T communities, and all of the trans communities, and all of the marginalized communities that have been actually alienated. Because they don’t fit into the way we think that people should think or live or, or play or sex.
Everyone has to seat at the table.
There’s no one who’s left out of the circle.
