@TornadoNate I actually likened education to “planting weed seeds” 🙂 instead of trying to grow exotic roses in kids
@TornadoNate It seems to me that one should not be motivated or ambitious in gardening the same way one is in other pursuits. Gardening relies a lot on what the Daoists call “yielding” (funny, we call the harvest a yield) and that attitude can help lesson the feeling of frustration.

@TornadoNate Once you realize that gardning is a two-way street, you allow the garden to cultivate you, and sometimes that is its biggest gift. Maybe this year, watch the weeds with surprise and curiosity, and allow that to inform how you garden. It shouldn’t be a battle.
